Healing To You was created in honor of Yoshiko Sukigawa, a woman whose story of strength and resilience has become the foundation of our mission. Yoshiko suffered years of domestic abuse during her marriage, facing horrors that no one should endure. Despite the challenges she faced, she ultimately found the courage to leave her abusive husband and raise her three children as a single mother.
Yoshiko’s journey was not easy. She struggled to provide for her family while healing from the trauma of her past.
What made her story even more remarkable was her ability to shield her grandchildren from the cycle of violence that had plagued her own life. Our founder was especially close to Yoshiko, known affectionately as “O’Bachan,” who played an instrumental role in breaking the generational cycle of violence within their family. By creating Healing To You, our founder sought to carry on Yoshiko’s legacy by providing care, support, and hope to those facing similar challenges.
Yoshiko’s bravery continues to inspire our work. She showed us that with the right support and determination, it is possible to break free from the chains of abuse. Her story serves as a beacon of hope for all victims of domestic violence, reminding them that they too can find strength in their darkest moments.
